Review on ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ MOOG 81198 Coil Spring Set for Steering and Suspension by Tim Hollins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Couldn't be happier!

I have a Titan 04 (2WD) with 107xxx miles. I once replaced the shocks on a Bilstien 4600 after about 70 miles but reused all the original OEM hardware (brackets, bushings, springs etc) and was never happy with the ride. So I decided to replace the 4600 with suspension. height adjustable 5100, this time with spare mounting hardware and springs. and what a difference! I'm pretty sure the problem with the 4600's performance was the worn OEM springs (not the shock absorbers). I've installed these 08+ springs on 5100s set to a medium perch and got about 2.5-3. โ€ of the hub and leveled my truck to within 1/2 of the rear (after it settles down it will probably be 2-2.5 inches). The ride quality is MUCH better! but it handles a little differently, not necessarily better or worse, just different, which I think is to be expected when changing ride height. I haven't done wheel alignment yet, but plan to do so in the next few weeks, which will probably make steering a bit more difficult. Looking back, I probably should have swapped the springs right away. If you are considering swapping out the shocks I highly recommend swapping out the springs and if you want more front end lift on your 04-07 consider using these 08+ springs. you will not regret it.
