I've just started learning Tunisian crochet and needed a kit to get started. It's a great kit and I was "lucky" as I knew next to nothing about what to buy. There is a very good selection of hooks and as it turned out the light wooden hooks proved to be very good as my project grew and started to get heavy. Wooden hooks are lightweight making them easier to use when the project gets tough and have a flexible extension at the spool end to keep the loops on the hook whilst still allowing the hook itself to be used easily. I think I'll need another set unless I need to purchase individual crochet hooks which aren't included in this set (these would be huge hooks for working with very bulky yarn). I would recommend that people hold their needles upright to keep the wood from warping, especially in a humid environment. I haven't had any warping issues, but I know wooden hooks/knitting needles can warp during storage so just wanted to mention it.
