Decent deterrent for lock on 04 Ford Ranger with topper

My $0.03. Pretty easy installation. I had to open the accessory panel because it was covered in rhino. The power cord was a bit short and I had to extend it to the passenger side. Once installed and locked, the lock had some play before it snapped shut and the gate opened anyway. So I had to adjust the handle so that it didn't open immediately. Hard to explain, but I basically had to adjust the grip so that it didn't fire instantly (about 1/2 - 3/4 of the grip before it fired). So I added a manual game. This will prevent the handle from getting stuck before the lock engages (contact with the scissors part). However, if you pull very hard, the lock will slide off the scissor part and open the gate. I had to bend the scissor part a bit to stop it. I could probably pull really hard and it would slip off again, but I didn't. So, like I said, just a decent deterrent. If anyone really wanted in, they just smashed the window on my blanket. It's a different matter if you only had one lid. By the way: The picture is not suitable for this product. This is an internal lock only and your standard handle will remain. The picture looks like a lid with a keyhole. Do your research and find out what to get first.
