Review on πŸ’§ Advanced Moisture-Resistant Printer Filament: Humidity Control and Compression by Roberto Manzer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Requires some finesse to get a good seal and can kind of make things worse.

I print exclusively in PLA and have heard conflicting information as to whether moisture is an issue with it. But I figured sealing my exposed coils wouldn't hurt. It's hard to say, but maybe I was wrong. First with these bags. I had to redo most of them because they lost their fillings almost immediately. I finally managed to get a seal which took over 20 minutes although I've just checked two that are still closed and one of them got air. Coils, sealed them and used a pump to remove the air. About a day later I tried to print from one of the spools which was still sealed. I printed with this roll a few days ago with no problems. Somehow it got so much water that it couldn't be printed. I've never had a filament failure like this even when they haven't been used for months. It almost didn't happen. I don't know how sealing my coils could mess them up, but something quickly messed up this particular coil.

Pros
  • Good material
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
