Review on HOGORE Adapter Ethernet Charging Compatible by James Ohlrogge

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just received so far so good but transfer performance slightly below specs

The standard Apple charger for my MacBook Pro charges it at 87W. It was particularly difficult to find USB-C Ethernet adapters that also allowed pass-through and listed their pass-through performance specifications. This was one of them, explicitly listed as 87 watts. Unfortunately, it runs with 81 watts (screenshot attached). It's a small difference, but I still think it's wrong. If I'm wrong correct me and I'll revise my review and rating. UPDATE: After upgrading my system to macOS Big Sur, the device stopped working. After a lot of research I was able to get it working by 1) removing the "USB 10/100/1000 LAN" device from the network settings using the minus key and confirming that I don't want the device to show up after a reboot. ; 2) Shutting down the computer and resetting the SMC on my MacBook (press and hold Option + Ctrl + Shift + Power button for 7 seconds); 3) turn on the computer; 4) add the device manually through the network settings, button "+", "USB 10/100/1000 LAN"; 5) After adding, go to "Advanced" and "Renew DHCP Lease"; 6) Disconnect and reconnect. ^ This was the ONLY way to get both POWER and ETHERNET back. Hope this helps some people.
