The adapter is solid and works as intended. It screws into the spiral hose, ostensibly to eliminate the need for a clamp. However, it was so loose in the hose that I had to pinch it. The purpose of this element is to be able to move the dust collection hose from machine to machine without opening it each time. It does an excellent job - on dust-tight four-inch ports. It fits perfectly into the ports of my 14" bandsaw. The nozzle is hard plastic so it doesn't really "grab" the port but still fits and stays on it. spaced a few millimeters apart in diameter. Decent price.
