Threads seamlessly into a 4" flexible dust hose for a snug fit even without a clamp. Other end is tapered for a snug fit over 4" dust outlets. Works great.

This didn't fit my top dust collector saw fence, nor did it fit my Laguna 1214. It didn't fit my old 6" power router exactly. I don't think there really is a "standard" for eg dust collection. The 4" port can be almost any size. You're just lucky if it fits your machines. I can try to take the stock out on my lathe.

Breaks easily. It broke in three places when I accidentally dropped the end of the 4" hose it was attached to. Now it's wrapped in duct tape. If I had known it was so fragile I would have taped the end first. The dust collection hose, which is moved from machine to machine, eventually falls off. This product should be made of a more durable material rather than a brittle plastic.

Bought this adapter and the connection to the powerful Powertec 4" hose was perfect. Tried to connect it to my grizzly dust collector. Wrong my planer. Wrong my router. Wrong other adapter connections Doesn't fit. The hole is too small as others have mentioned. For comparison I also bought a Powertec 4" adapter which fits all my 4" fittings easily but needs a clamp for the hose side. Sorry , DCT could not find the correct size and this item is being returned.

I work in tight spaces and use a wall mounted dust collector on most of my woodworking machines. I looked for more expensive proprietary fittings that would allow for easy movement between tools, and then found a much cheaper alternative. The adapter is solid and works as intended. It screws into the spiral hose, ostensibly to eliminate the need for a clamp. However, it was so loose in the hose that I had to pinch it. The purpose of this element is to be able to move the dust collection hose from machine to machine without opening it each time. It does an excellent job - on dust-tight four-inch ports. If you buy this device to quickly change the suction hose from one device to another, a small adjustment is required. It screws into the hose well and feels secure, but the ID of the end designed to fit over the tool outlet is a bit small. It barely fits and will fall off if not secured. I've just used the spin wheel on the drill press to remove stuff from the inside and it's working pretty well now. Great adapter. The 4" fitting is slightly tapered to fit all the slightly different sized exhaust ports on my machines. A little push and twist keeps it in place well. The material is durable plastic.
