Soft, comfortable and great for cosplay!

I bought this product for cosplay based on the recommendation of many websites and guides. I almost used up the whole roll so let me share my experience: cuts easily. You don't even need a heated blade to cut through this foam unless you're after the finest precision. I used a plain old jackknife to cut it into various squares and rectangles so I could further process them into the pieces I needed. Easy. However, note that it is twisted and it can be a bit difficult to keep it steady when cutting. I would recommend rolling it out completely and weighing it down to make precise cuts. It also burns/melts easily. Don't bring heat sources to him for more than a second or two or you risk melting into foam and leaving ugly dents. As for the heat, it's very easy to shape with a heat gun. Make sure you use a medium heat setting and do a simple, quick wipe across the flat side of the foam and you'll notice the difference. The color darkens slightly as the foam reacts to heat and begins to shrink and thicken. I usually make a pass over each piece, shape it a little, make another pass when it cools, shape a little more, rinse and repeat. Be careful not to hold the heat gun too close or for too long, or the foam will start to bubble and become rough. If you burn it, it turns an ugly whitish color. Hot Glue: This foam is great for hot glue. Hot glue sticks together with this foam and hardens quickly. Before that I was used to holding pieces of 3/8 foam rubber together for 5-10 minutes until the glue sets, but the foam rubber from this mat takes half that time. Be careful not to burn yourself on the glue though, as it spreads pretty easily even at bad angles. I already have three separate hot glue fires and it's no fun lol. Paint and Plasti-Dip: Plasti-dip and Rustoleum spray paint work really well with this foam. Follow recommended steps 3 coats of Plasti-Dip for an hour and same for spray paint. How much to use it for its intended purpose. I designed a pair of shoes for my cosplay and used this foam for the insoles. The foam is very comfortable to walk on and definitely feels like it lives up to its name. Highly recommended.
