TLDR: Highly recommended for anyone who wants to play current-gen games at 1080p. Great price and great parts! It's been 84 years since I last set foot on earth. well, apparently i haven't been in the market for a new gaming rig for a long time. I'm upgrading from a 9 year old build of Cyberpowerpc-amd Phenom-Gtx960 (RIP). It was high time for an update. I wasn't familiar with the Skytech brand so I looked at some Amazon reviews, their website and the Better Business Bureau. Find out that this is a new company (1 year old) and not BBB accredited. So I read some more reviews on the BBB website. Most of the negative reviews were written by people looking forward to the tech support or frustrated with the return process and frustrated that they had a brick. One thing I noticed was that all the complaints filed against them (there were 3) have been resolved. I decided to take a chance. The package came 1 day earlier than planned, which makes me very happy. But when I saw the condition of the packaging, I was concerned. Looks like Wolverine cut off the top of the box (see photo). When I opened the package everything seemed well positioned and secured. The first thing that struck me about this car is the tempered glass side panels. It works with a hinge and magnet system that is very practical and easily accessible. After unpacking everything and (carefully) removing the foam covering the components, I checked all the power and data connections. Everything was plugged in and tight, but I noticed that the cable routing is very tight, especially under the cover where the power supply is located. There's a 3.5-inch hard drive bay down there, which will be difficult to access as it's partially blocked by cables. The rest of the cable management is fairly clean. Keyboard and mouse were mmm. usable. I was definitely worse. I checked all components to make sure my device matched my product description, everything was fine. I was a little worried because the graphics card looked smaller than I expected. It turned out to be a single fan PNY card, smaller than most 1660 supers but does the job. Then I crossed my fingers and hit the power button. First there were lights. nice RGB lighting coming from 3 case fans and the front panel. Next is the ASRock home screen (almost done). Finally a Windows setup screen and a sigh of relief. The Windows installation was successful without any problems. Starting after the initial setup takes less than 20 seconds. I ran the NZXT Cam software to get some component information and to monitor CPU/GPU utilization and temperatures. Idle temperatures are normal and the case seems to have good airflow. I can play RDR2 at 1080p at a constant 60fps on mostly high/ultra settings, I had to reduce water quality and reflections to stay above 60fps. Other games I tried were COD Warzone, Doom Eternal, Borderlands 3, R6, Fortnite, DBD, CSGO and more. All started with medium settings. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend Skytech Gaming.
