Review on Anpro Brix Refractometer for Homebrew - Dual Scale Specific Gravity 1.000-1.120 with Automatic Temperature Compensation 0-32% - Replacing Homebrew Hydrometer, M by Sam Simone

This year I started brewing my own beer and cider and started with a hydrometer. While I've had good results with an hydrometer, I learned about refractometers and ordered this one. I haven't touched my areometer since then. It only takes a few drops to get a reading, not 8 ounces in my hydrometer vial. This instrument makes it very easy to take samples, requires less cleaning and less waste. I love that this refractometer displays both specific gravity and Brix values. It was very easy to calibrate with a few drops of distilled water and the included screwdriver and eyedropper. The case isn't meant to be heavy duty, but it sits on a shelf in my brew room when not in use and I love that it's lined with foam to protect the tooling inside. All in all a great buy and a must have for any home brewer!
