This saw works fantastic. It is convenient, the blade is securely fixed, the body is metal, as is the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a plastic cover but is otherwise metal. I made a user error. I'm so used to my Carpenrter hand saw that I've forgotten it's a Japanese saw that cuts backwards or when you pull the saw. After remembering this important fact, the saw cut perfectly and quite aggressively. It has 9 teeth per inch and is not as aggressive as a 7 teeth per inch saw. It has triple teeth that cut both wet and dry wood quickly. I've tested it on all cuts with a maximum cut diameter of 4 inches, no problem. He even cut out a 5 inch piece. If you find yourself in this situation, there are no problems, but you have to be careful.
