I bought this because all my tools in my 2 car garage need to be mobile. For the bandsaw I built it following the instructions: 1 inch more length and width, wheels out for more lateral stability. The only issue I had, and not the mobile base's fault, was that my Porter Cable band saw had a hinged door that was blocked by the wheels so I couldn't open it. My solution was to put a 2x4 under the saw on both sides to raise it. Now I can open the door 3/4 until the lift lever gets in the way. If I had understood that before I built it, I could have easily avoided the problem. I have to go slow when raising and lowering as the bandsaw is very heavy and not bolted on and had a split second scare. My advice and plan is to screw everything to the base. For the drill press, I raised the base 1 inch either way and used threaded bolts to attach the drill press to the base and outboard wheels. The drill is very reliable. I see no reason why it should tip or wobble every time. So it was a wonderful purchase and extremely useful to me.
