Great, but be careful (read more)

Update: It looks like I received a device that has been out of production for a few years. The lipo (lithium ion battery) is very low capacity and the lighter might last a day with regular use (as a lighter, not just fiddling with it etc.). This is done with small lipocells; They are produced in very large numbers and then await a delivery or assembly order (alternatively, they could be contracted before construction). In any situation, a large production line can cause problems with sensitive chemicals; Even with proper storage, the battery electrolyte is irreversibly destroyed over time. With lithium-ion cells, this happens more quickly when charging above or below battery capacity, the latter being significantly more severe. In any case, the cell in my device doesn't support about 200mAh at all. I have three other unnamed devices with the exact same electronic design and am very familiar with these types of devices; it was just bad luck and probably the last remnants of the old batch. I don't really want to get into the issue of shipping to Zippo, although it's definitely covered. not worth shipping. This is a great OEM use. I love these electric lighters, but most of the ones I own have burned out from long-term use. Be very careful when installing; While the module itself is very durable and will likely last as long as any other Zippo product, it was designed to very tight tolerances when installed. I put it straight into the new Zippo case; Never had gas, never caught fire. It stuck pretty tight; I had to use double fold fabric and channel locks at almost full force to get it out of its case. Most people would seriously damage their shell and module in this case, but I have some special tools, so I'm lucky. I highly recommend applying a minimally light coat of very light oil to the inside of your sink. I mean the least amount of oil coverage with no drain or saturation, which is equivalent to dipping something in oil and wiping it very thoroughly. I also reduced the height of the extended bracket on the module. Now I have it as tight as an OEM flame module and it's perfect. This is especially important as you have to pull the module out all the way to charge it. In general I am very happy with them. The quality is great just make sure you match the tolerances for your shell. With a used projectile that has propellant and flint powder in its pores, this probably isn't too bad, since both act as a mild lubricant. 9/10 A point deduction is made for overly preloaded fasteners which, without thorough lubrication and forcible adjustment, can result in a large number of users easily damaging the housing and module.

Pros
  • 200 mAh IEC battery; Micro USB connector 5V 0.2A
Cons
  • Poor manual
