Review on 20-Inch Acrobird PL 20 Pet Toy with 2 Cups and Chains by Brooke Wenzel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

We keep some Zupreem Smart Select (no seeds) in two meals to stimulate.

After much searching after our blue eyed 30 year old passed away we got Rio, Tobago with orange wings. She was only 3 1/2 months old when we brought her home this summer and this play stand was one of our first purchases (not from Revain though). She was a little afraid of it when we first showed her but it only lasted a day or two and now at 7 weeks we can hardly stop her. Whenever we open the door of her cage and take her out, she flies straight towards her every time. So don't give up if your bird isn't enthusiastic at first. We keep some Zupreem Smart Select (no seeds) in two bowls to cheer her up along with small toys which we hang from a plastic chain and now she takes turns eating and playing with the toys. Up until the last few days she always stayed on top (my instinct was to climb to the highest spot to be safe), but now her confidence is growing and she climbs up and down the stairs to get to the toys. The play stand was easy to assemble, but I had to drill two holes to put a ladder where it belonged. Also, it was a mirror image of what is shown in the picture (I followed the directions carefully). Anyway, it seems to be her favorite place to play and she can spend an hour at a time there. We bought a 20" gaming stand and put it on the tabletop. It seems like a good size for them, at least for now. My only downside is that it's difficult to get the toys upstairs where they are prefers to sit so we use a yellow chain to drape over it and get it within her reach I think I could attach something to hang the toys but since she's going down to get them now, it is not that important.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
