They work, but watch out!
Unless you are into body piercing, wear protection! A full face shield is recommended. I wear one of these and there is a constant tic-tic-tic as the little wires bounce off of it:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001VY3ACEOther than that, they do what a wire brush in a rotary tool is supposed to do: spin around and brush stuff.
