I had a lot of good reviews for Stan's No Rim Tape, but I decided to give Muc-Off a chance to beat Stan's Tape. Unfortunately it didn't work that well. I bought 30mm Muc-Off tape for my new 30mm carbon inner rims. First, the band appears to be quite thin. Second, it was quite difficult to apply without leaving air bubbles. I had to apply several times until there were almost no air bubbles left. Then after I was done I mounted the tire and applied 125ml of Orange Seal Endurance Sealant but air was still leaking through the two spokes. After a while, one of the spokes stopped letting air through and the other never. So I decided to do it all over again. When I removed the Muc-Off rim tape it was left with a lot of glue and bits of tape that took me over 45 minutes with Goo Gone to remove. It took even longer to reapply the second time than the first time as I had to be extra careful that it really seals the rim well. After I finished, mounted the tire and reapplied the tubeless sealant, the air started sucking out of a whole different spoke again, but after a while it stopped. So I sent the product back and ordered Stan's. It is immediately clear that this is a higher quality and thicker band. It took me less than 5 minutes to apply and I tested it for the first time without sealant and it hasn't leaked anywhere. It just seems like Muc-Off spends 90% of its budget on marketing and 10% on marketing. product development. I'm not saying all of their products are bad, but the ones I've tried weren't any better than the competition.
