Review on Big Gator Tools STD1000DGNP V-Drill Guide: Accurate and Versatile Drilling Solution by Marcus Munoz

Too bad I didn't discover this many years ago

I was hesitant to spend coins on these but they are worth it if you need to stay vertical and can't work the press. Very nicely finished, the holes are slightly larger than the size of the freely spinning racquet, preventing you from hitting your target. So far all my bits have been good at clearing shavings from the top with wood and aluminum - there isn't much room under the guide so shaving buildup can be an issue when watching cast iron or dull/cheesy bits. The height is just enough to give the bit some direction so you can get a reasonable drilling depth, and I was even able to get about 3/4" deep with a 1/16" bit in a 1/8" hole (a good straight bit which seems rare for little ones these days) I wouldn't mind adding a 3/32" bore to this model. It's way better than a cheap Milescraft manual, and the folks at Big Gator are great if you need it or want to get in touch.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • No power
