We have an electric knife sharpener that we use on most of our knives but it doesn't fit serrated blades so I ordered this sharpener. It handles both serrated blades and straight blades with minimal effort. It fits comfortably in your hand and is small enough to hide in a desk drawer. However, my biggest issue with the sharpener is that there are three slots for sharpening different blade types, but they are not marked. The only way to tell which slot is which blade is by looking at the card in the plastic blister pack. And the blisters are terrible in my opinion. By the time I managed to free the sharpener, I had cut through the card inside. Of course I can hang a card for reference or try to label the sharpener myself, but it seems pretty logical that it was designed with slots marked.
