The first comment is about the power supply - the cable is thin, the power supply is heavy and pulls on it. Upon unboxing, my original intention was to secure the neck of the power supply with tape. In general I like it. It's not much different from your traditional desktop scanner, but features a simplified touchscreen interface, ultra-small size, and the ability to save directly to a flash drive. Unpacking was easy - just plug it in and insert the sheet feeder. where the pictures go. If you just want to save to USB, it takes 5 seconds to plug in a flash drive and boot. Otherwise, you'll have to enter your network information, which was easy and intuitive using the touchscreen. I would say the entire setup took less than 5 minutes. I use the scanner in a variety of ways for my home office: flash drive, direct to laptop (via cable), email (usually to myself), and Google Drive. All of this required very few adjustments. My first project, and the main reason I got it, is digitizing books. We had a fire and most of my books were not directly exposed to the fire but smelled of smoke. I cut off the spine and run it through a scanner to make digital copies, which for many of them is probably preferable anyway. You can watch my full how-to video on the popular video site. That's 18 pages per minute, so it takes 15 minutes to complete an average book. This is a very decent speed for a home scanner, although at this price point I think it should be faster. I've seen 40 or 50ppm in this price range (although not plugged in) and a bit more, I've seen much more advanced scanners that scan up to 90ppm with a lot more features. However, it has the advantage of an ultra-simple screen interface and a small footprint. Very versatile, only weighs a few pounds, I can take it to the garage and scan my books from the comfort of my home. And it's not designed to be portable, but in a pinch you can scan documents on the go (I used it to scan real estate documents in a home with no internet, for example). Colours. Business colors are good, charts and PowerPoint too, and the illustrations from my books are just beautiful. But I don't think I'll be using this to backup family photos. In addition, there is no resolution, a maximum of 300 dpi. And another bittersweet point is the sheet capacity - at 50 pages, I often have to top up my work. It remembers where it left off, so it's no big deal, and if the power was doubled the car would probably need to be bigger. However, I think they could have made it to 75 pages without much redesign. Another advantage is that my kids can use it, it's that simple. There's no lid/flip to lift or break every time, no glare from the tablet, and no open glass to scratch or spill. You can just plug in your flash drive, scan, and don't need anyone's help. And it's fun to use. Warnings: You will only receive a quick guide, you can access the guide online or on CD. For most things, setup is intuitive. But I had some questions about advanced features (which I'll probably never use) but had to consult the manual. On-screen UI may lag a second or two, just a slow processor I think. And I mentioned that the DPI is low, the sheet feed capacity is only 50 pages, and it's not designed for high-quality photos. Still, I think it's perfect for the vast majority of my home needs, including my home office - scanning receipts, purchase orders, tax returns. , one million uses. I personally like it despite the limitations.
