This overview is for initial setup and first impressions only. I'll update later if it proves solid or if something goes wrong. I want a door with a keypad lock in case I lock my keys inside - which I've done 3 times in the last month for some reason. I also wanted it to auto-block; My daughter has a bad habit of going in at night and not locking the door behind her. Installation is easy and takes about 15 minutes with a single screwdriver - if you watch the installation video. My guide skipped two steps they added in the video (screw the plate to the door and make sure the twist handle is unlocked) and my first install didn't work when I followed the guide. The manual, the video and my real lock looked different too. I would have figured it out, but I couldn't if I hadn't seen the video. I deduct a star for that. These are beautiful hardware and I'm frustrated with the condition of my door - I need to do some woodwork and repaint it. It feels smooth to open and was very easy to program with some additional codes. I took a photo of the master code and access codes and emailed it to myself - I'm old enough to lose key codes and combinations over the years and started messing with passwords and stuff a few years ago , which would be an emergency .if you lose. This is the 2nd class and I prefer the 1st class, but that's enough for now. I'm going to add another layer of security to my back door, but now I feel a lot more secure with it compared to the flimsy lock that was there when I moved into my house.
