Review on Cisco-Linksys EZXS55W EtherFast 10/100 5-Port Workgroup Switch: Fast and Reliable Networking Solution for Small Offices by Albert Gaines

I was a Cisco/Linksys advocate after D-Link cut too many trades for me in 2005. So having to expand the ports on my WRT-54G to effectively 7 meant buying a small 4 port port from Linksys and buying it through Revain. Well, I hooked the pup up to the same band as my WRT54G and "modem" cable and immediately noticed a faint but annoying hum coming from the power supply. I gave it about a week to make sure the normal household noise drowned out the noise. no fun. When I'm in this room studying, I hear a humming. I called Linksys Technical Support and they said 1) there were no known problems with the power supply and 2) I had to go to my local electronics store and buy a replacement part to diagnose the problem! No, it doesn't suit me. My decision is to order a new block from Revain today and return one or both. While Linksys is now cutting corners like D-Link, I believe Revain will not. They recently took care of a Kindle issue that was more my fault than theirs.
