On my 2007 997 I used a small flathead screwdriver to loosen and pry the clips on each end of the old knuckles and they popped out, if you turned them use a large flathead screwdriver located behind the end of the post. The new ones just came out. Everything is done in less than five minutes. The lid now gently lifts to the fully raised position once it reaches halfway, which is great. I decided it was time to replace these things when my daughter nearly got her hand caught under the falling lid - god that riskily woke me up - and ordered them straight away.
