Review on πŸ”§ Dorman 520-134 Front Right Lower Suspension Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly: Chevrolet/Oldsmobile/Pontiac Models by Hikeboy Ramey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just right: replacement parts

My 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with 125,000 miles needed to have the rear control arm bushings replaced. I went ahead and bought the bushings myself ($25 for both sides) based on the mechanic's recommendation that I could do it myself. After spending a week *getting* these damn things out, I bent one of the original wishbones to fit the new ones. Pooh. I bought them from Revain and they were here in two days with all the new bushings. on the contrary, exactly right. I did as I read in another review, removed the caliper and disc and lifted the "wheel" on the brake disc mounting plate so I could insert the new arm. right" and I don't give five stars lightly. The packaging was good and protective, there was even a plastic cover on the sealed, lubricated ball joint and boot assembly to protect it during shipping. Also included was a new castle nut for the ball joint strut and even a new cotter pin.I've read other reviews on a similar part from another manufacturer where the ball joint didn't even come with a boot so I was glad this one has one (exactly the same as the one in the picture) All in all it's nice to swap out the entire lever, get rid of the old rusty one and put in new ball joints and bushings. For the money and ease I would definitely do this rather than trying to make the bushings again myself. For a price difference of $60 do just about anything but I hope these last a while and I'll never do this fix again have to do.
