Keep up to date. Faulty product. If a product you have is causing problems, test it without this USB hub first. Most of the USB ports on my PC are on the back and hard to reach. So I got this to give me easy access to my USB ports. At first it worked fine. After a month my Toshiba external hard drive started making these horrible intermittent noises. When I tried to read or write large files, started, skipped, stopped, restarted, skipped, hung. Transfers that should have taken 3 minutes took 45. My first thought was that I had a faulty external drive. I only bought it 3 months ago, thought it was defective and just wanted to eat my money and buy a new drive to back up my files. Although I had such a nagging feeling, what are the odds that I received the failed drive from Toshiba, a fairly reliable company. Fortunately, I decided to connect the drive directly to the computer. Went like clockwork. I then tried that with a gigabyte USB extension cable with a different port. Worked perfectly. Thank goodness I decided to try other ports. Saved me good money. Be careful. Something about this product causes some products to crash e.g. B. because it cannot maintain a stable connection. That would explain why people who connect their mouse to it have so many problems.
