Review on 🔒 PL5412 Blue Ribbon Metallic Manual Tailgate Lock for Toyota Tacoma with BOLT Codeable – Pop & Lock by Billy Donalson

This is my third Pop&Lock tailgate handle that I have bought in the last 8 years. Overall I think it's a decent product that needs some improvements. My first pen broke when my daughter pulled on it too hard. As far as I know, the manufacturer has solved this problem. My second handle was defective with the lock and fell out about a month ago. I live in a sunny part of the US and the trim is badly weathered/worn - gray rather than black now. I just installed the third handle. I hope this lock will last longer than my previous one. You would think that for $80+! Time will tell, but I worry that production isn't what it used to be (think planned obsolescence). Indeed, what manufacturer would want to create a product that never needs to be replaced?
