Worked well for my project. Use them on stranded 28 gauge CAT 5e wire. I've found that a 1.6mm crimp works best. The female sockets must be pushed in all the way to engage the pins and retaining bar. If you press them down until the front snaps into place, they look fine, but they don't connect well. Pin 1 markers are all the same so do not string them together when creating male/female kits. I just used a white paint marker to mark it; much easier to see. A cheap plastic insertion/removal tool would be a nice addition.
