I used this to tie my car's exhaust pipe together when my muffler flange was getting rusty. I had enough length to do it. One thing struck me: he was very strong. I tried tying it one way and it didn't hold, so wrap the pipe around the long way. I had to cut my first try and it took a couple of scissors. These bonds are as strong as nails. I used two pliers, one to hold the locking mechanism and the other to pull on the end. It took some effort to tighten, but I managed to lower it without loosening. I don't know if any of the reviewers were right when they said you can't tighten it. You just have to pull hard, otherwise it's tight. I will say that with plastic zip ties you can use a gun to tighten them as tight as you like. Without a weapon for those metal ties, however, everything rests on elbow grease. Whenever I need constant support, I'll reach for them.
