6ft works for me on my app but barely. Be sure to measure how long the cable is actually needed. Locking and unlocking makes sense (with a key). Since there is no loop at the end it goes through small holes which is what I needed. I think two of them will give you 12 feet together since you can put them together. I use it to lock my stairs which I use to peek over the fence to the girls next door wearing bikinis when the sun is out. One in blue, the other in red. Hmmmm. They want me to look. The cable is flexible enough. I also run wires through pistol triggers and sword hilts and sometimes to cordon off my underground bunker. It's easy to carry. I would recommend it. What would improve this product is a steel grommet (similar to a short steel tube) where each cable enters the device. Then I could drill two holes in my wall, run a wire through it, and the sleeves would make it difficult to cultivate the wires as the device would rest against the wall and the sleeves would protect the wires.
