Review on πŸ”¨ Weldcote Nickel 99 Cast Iron Welding Electrode Repair: High-Quality 1/8" 1 Lb. Solution by Michael Ward

Works exactly as it should.

I ran out of nickel rod while repairing a cast iron vise that broke. I understood the process and properly prepared all cast iron parts. I was able to heat the part to just over 300 degrees. Attached and did my root pass not knowing how much rod I would need. I only have 3 sticks left. Yes, after a lazy pass, jumping 1-inch balls, I was slowly cooling off in dry sand. I had enough for my root pass, but I had to be quick. The local store didn't have any. Good. You need this material to properly weld cast iron. Otherwise don't even try. Slow preheating to just over 300 degrees is crucial. 1-2 inch balls bounce around to control hot spots, then slowly cool in DRY sand.
