Review on ๐Ÿ”ง VEVOR Strut Compressor - Heavy Duty 45# Steel Spring Compressor for Universal Fit, Thick Compression Arms Spring Compressor Tool, Auto Equipment for Car Repairing by Kobby Cagle

One of the worst tool designs requires maximum security.

Very bad design idea. The four blue arms began to curl at the ends where the claws passed. They became a V shape. This is most likely due to too much heat from welding these tubes to the levers during manufacture. Luckily I stopped before it got worse when I saw the arms were twisted into a V shape. The picture shows the part even after I started decompressing the spring. Totally chubby! The welds are of poor quality and appear to have been welded by someone with no experience or poor technique/tools. No. Steel 45 is not recommended for welding - it will crack or have problems if not heat treated after welding. Do you think they took the time to do this after all these problems they found? Black U-tubes (#45 steel) were also stagger welded. This caused problems with the bearing above! A nightmare if you think you have to use this tool in a risky job.

Pros
  • Convenient operation: The levers are adjustable in and out and up and down, so you can use springs of different sizes. Diameter: 2-1/2" - 10", Vertical Stroke: 2-1/2" - 24". An extended dual-bar grip gives users the leverage needed to compress heavier struts.
Cons
  • Hard to say
