Description of ๐Ÿ”ง VEVOR Strut Compressor - Heavy Duty 45# Steel Spring Compressor for Universal Fit, Thick Compression Arms Spring Compressor Tool, Auto Equipment for Car Repairing

Excellent Performance: The universal strut compressor is able to handle the heavier springs found on mid-and some full-size truck strut assemblies. The extra thick 5/8" compression arms are for superior strength and stability. Improved Locking Jaws: Four-point locking jaws securely hold the spring in place, which eliminates arms from spreading or sliding when compressing offset or unique strut configurations. And the lock rings can hold arms in position. Convenient Operation: The arms adjust in and out, up and down, to accept many sizes of springs. Diameter: 2-1/2" - 10", vertical stroke: 2-1/2" - 24". The extra-long 2-bar handle gives the user the leverage needed to compress heavier strut springs. Heavy-duty Construction: Our spring compressor tool is made of premium 45# steel for excellent durability and reliability. With the powder-coated finishing, the steel frame construction is long-lasting and rust-proof. Various Application: The open-ended design means you can quickly and easily take the strut in and out. The spring compressor is suitable for disassembling and assembling most struts. It is a powerful and essential tool for the auto repair shop, garage, and automotive research center.

Not as heavy as advertised

There's nothing solid about this compressor. I bought it thinking it would be way stronger than the ones sold in auto parts stores. These are GMC Yukon springs and the whole thing was curvaceous and quite nervous to work with. I probably won't use it for big nibs anymore. The handles were also missing. Made me work with a big head and an impact wrench

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction: Our spring compression tool is made from high quality 45# steel for exceptional durability and reliability. The powder-coated steel frame construction is durable and rust-resistant.
Cons
  • Not bad

good for money

I had to make a custom mount to make it work in my garage. I had to shorten the handles because they were too long and I had to sand down the spring seats where they grip the spring because they didn't fit between the springs and the edges were too sharp and could chip the paint off my springs I used this for a Toyota 4Runner and overall it worked well compared to the $800 spring supercharger.

Pros
  • Outstanding performance: The universal strut compressor is able to handle the heavier struts of medium and some large trucks. Extra thick 5/8 inch compression arms provide superior strength and stability.
Cons
  • Expandable

One of the worst tool designs requires maximum security.

Very bad design idea. The four blue arms began to curl at the ends where the claws passed. They became a V shape. This is most likely due to too much heat from welding these tubes to the levers during manufacture. Luckily I stopped before it got worse when I saw the arms were twisted into a V shape. The picture shows the part even after I started decompressing the spring. Totally chubby! The welds are of poor quality and appear to have been welded by someone with no experience or poorโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Convenient operation: The levers are adjustable in and out and up and down, so you can use springs of different sizes. Diameter: 2-1/2" - 10", Vertical Stroke: 2-1/2" - 24". An extended dual-bar grip gives users the leverage needed to compress heavier struts.
Cons
  • Hard to say

The product is manufactured in a typical not very durable form. The contents are wrapped in bubble wrap and the product simply lies in the box with no straps as you can see in the photo. Objects fly around in it. The screw package burst and the safety pins fell out. In terms of durability, I bought it because I didn't want to use stand alone spring compressors which are usually extremely dangerous but a lot cheaper. Given the size of these tools, the bolt is undersized and seems to fail after a

Pros
  • Improved Locking Jaws: Four-point locking jaws hold the spring securely in place and prevent the arms from splaying or sliding when compressed with staggered or unique strut configurations. And locking rings can keep your hands in the right position.
Cons
  • There are problems
