Pretty good but you need Windows XP

We bought this product a few weeks ago to digitize business cards and the price ($20) wasn't bad for what it is. I read most of the reviews (like I usually do) and decided to give it a try anyway, again $20 isn't too bad to try. Here are some things I've learned that may help you decide if this product is worth buying. Does not work with Windows 7 or 8 (32-bit or 64-bit). , you may have seen it a few times in other reviews and that's it. Apparently the new company stopped R&D and support for this version of the product to use the new models. This happens with most products, except when support ends, production must also stop. These guys still do it even if they don't support it. Works well with Windows XP. If you're still using Windows XP (Microsoft's support for XP is ending soon, by the way), then you've come to the right place. Works great and handles business cards well. Based on my testing, card type is not as important as font and layout. Some companies like to 'create' with their business cards and as such the information is not presented in a predictable manner. Glossy, embossed and color cards are scanned normally so the font and layout are predictable. Fancy curved fonts make recognition difficult. I haven't tried it with Windows Vista. In conclusion, if you are using Windows 7 or 8 and still want to use this scanner, you can do so. You can learn XP-Mode on Windows 7 (free) or VMware Player for Windows 7 or 8 (also free). You need a valid Windows XP license (not free) for VMware Player, but everything else is free. You can get an XP license key from an old laptop or computer or whatever. You can spend $20 and do a little work to set up a workaround, or you can buy a newer model for around $200. In any case, the product works very well.
