I bought a high quality eco-leather cord from CoCoKnits to use as a loop holder for my latest sweater, but found the leather fibers caught in my seams. boo! I was very disappointed as the stitch holder was expensive ($25!) and apparently had not been tested by real knitters. While plastic and certainly not eco-friendly, this loop keeper from Clover is definitely the best bang for your buck. While I may be in pain because I'm not a fashion knitter, this product is fantastic! The cord does not kink, slides smoothly through all types of yarn, so it is used and not thrown away (this is a real eco item: what they are used again and again and have a long shelf life). Because it's made of plastic, it's durable. I like a little needle threader so I can plug the end. Be warned, the end of the stopper isn't very tight, so don't try to get a few stitches on it. Buy a second cable instead.
