Review on 🚪 Imperial 8-Inch Satin Nickel Brass Accents Door Knocker (A03-K4002-619) by Jeremy Carpenter

1) Instructions say to drill into the door from the inside. DO NOT DO THAT! Unless you're a handyman who can drill perfectly orthogonal holes, any angle you deviate from will increase due to the thickness of the door - and you'll have to drill even more holes in the door. Measure the distance between the jambs and drill INSIDE from the outside of the door. I used a 1/4" bit etc and then wiggled it around a bit to give me a little more tolerance to line up the screws with very demanding posts. 2) Also, the equipment they recommend is unnecessarily complex. Yes, you need to buy your own mounting hardware. They tell you to buy two solid threaded rods, a coupler, a washer and an acorn nut. Just buy two 1/4"-20 mounting screws that are slightly longer than the thickness of your door. My door is 1" 5/8". The only thing that is more difficult with my choice is the alignment The screws with the posts required a bit of tact. The union nut also looks a little better.
