Review on πŸ’ͺ Powerful Makita HM1203C 20 Pound Demolition Hammer: Unleash Your Strength! by Brad Ward

Why did I wait so long to buy?

As someone who does a lot of earthwork in my clay soil, I absolutely love this product! It's so powerful and works so fast but doesn't flinch until you lower the tool onto the attached bit. But despite this, it repels much less than its older brothers, which are designed to work in the air and destroy large chunks of cement. This Proline CM96-22 4-1/2" x 20" SDS Max Clay Spade breaks up clay instantly with minimal effort. The only concern is that when digging around cemented posts, you'll have to pull the drill out when you hit the cement. (The cement sounds and feels different, so it's no big deal.) Otherwise, the cement will crack, and what does that say about the performance of this device? I also bought this Proline CM96-09 1" x 24" SDS Max Flat Chisel for breaking rocks. However, when you crush large pieces of cement, this device is not powerful enough. I bought a 65 pound jackhammer to break up cement in fence post holes as it was taking too long with the much easier to use Makita. Since I don't use a heavy jackhammer that often, I bought a cheaper brand.

Pros
  • Rock Drill Bit
Cons
  • Incredible Piggy Bank
