I have two male parrots and there's no other toy or activity they love more than hollowing out those logs! They "get straight to work" and hardly stop resting until it's empty and the ends are open. Once hollowed out, the empty log becomes the most coveted spot in the cage, and they take turns sitting in the hole rejoicing or waiting nearby for their turn, peering eagerly. too expensive for a project that two parrots can completely clear out in less than 2 days. But they love her so much that they really don't have a choice. My parrots prefer this style of a single large "stem" with an initial hole over alternatives such as a stem with multiple holes or slices/pieces tied or loose.
