Great for keeping budgies busy!

My parrots love it. I removed the thin wire that was included. The wire looked like the birds could attach their wings to it. I hung it vertically on the hook at the end. They were afraid of this day for about 3 days. They love it. It's messy, but it's a great way to keep them occupied and give them something new. It's messy, but that's what makes it fun for the birds. I wouldn't give it to my bigger bird. This will take over a couple of hours. (He is very soft.)

My parrots LOVE it

I have two male parrots and there's no other toy or activity they love more than hollowing out those logs! They "get straight to work" and hardly stop resting until it's empty and the ends are open. Once hollowed out, the empty log becomes the most coveted spot in the cage, and they take turns sitting in the hole rejoicing or waiting nearby for their turn, peering eagerly. too expensive for a project that two parrots can completely clear out in less than 2 days. But they love her so much that…

Great bird toy! for toys

So far so good. I put this huge thing in my little whale's cage and thought she would never touch it. Or she doesn't get too close to him because he's so tall. Or she's afraid of him because he's so big. Well, within 20 minutes she found out and went into town munching. How the hell had she thought to do that? I found it incredible. She doesn't get bored anymore (she has a lot of toys but that's obviously her favorite thing to do, at least for the moment) and that makes me happy! I'll be on the

Reusable as an outdoor birdhouse

My parrot couldn't stop climbing in and out of this log and hollowed it out in 3 weeks. I buy a second one. If you're replacing a hollowed-out bird (like me), hang it outside (vertically, long side down) for other birds to use. Smaller birds (like wrens) are very fond of them. Installation: It comes with wire attached to both ends of the tree trunk. I cut the wire in half, fed it through the slots in the top of the cage, and then tied the ends together. The log was hung from the top of the…

Chicks in My Nest: Birds

Wesco Kozy Keet Playnest has made a great impression on my flock of parrots. They were all excited for a few days, then Betty and the Gods announced they were going to be parents soon! Both of them, but especially Betty, worked day and night until late to beat him to the bitter end. Immediately after completion we saw Betty less often and found at least 4 eggs (which we could see on the narrow tree trunk). The amazing thing was that not only could Betty sleep there and roll over if she wanted…

My parrots love them.

I have found similar products at the pet store but they are better made and safer for birds. They don't have metal nails on the ends like those sold at the pet store, they are sealed with something that makes them look natural. My parrots spend hours playing with and in them. One has gone so far that I have to look for its tail to find it. It took some time for my other younger ones to accept it, now they are gradually working on theirs too. I introduced him, then gave them time and put him…

Absolutely delighted!

We adopted a parrot that we found flapping on the street. He had a minor injury and seemed tame, but as the wound healed he became wild and untouchable. He is older, not very active and very self-centered. He often seems bored and lonely and since I couldn't give him any physical attention I decided to add something to his cage to stimulate him. I added a mirror bass he loves and this Cozy Whale. He didn't touch Cozy Kit for the first few weeks, but he started chewing on the wooden bars and…
