14 Ton Electric Log Splitter: Portable, Rapid Auto Return Hydraulic Ram System Review

This wood splitter is great and meets my needs. It maneuvers well and has made splitting wood safer and easier. I will definitely be better prepared for next winters wood supply.

Assembly was fairly easy, but the instructions were only fair, relying on pictures with no verbal descriptions. So far it has been able to handle every log. I did initially have an issue one the first start where it would trip the internal fuse, but after tying to start in the retract position I got past this issue and everything has worked great since. You can see in the picture it was able to handle this 11" log without a problem.

I bought this electric log splitter in early October 2022, and so far it has exceeded my expectations. This is the most powerful electric splitter that I've seen so far, and it really lives up to it's name, SuperHandy. Well packaged and easy to assemble, this brute easily split 14 inch diameter logs and some knotty difficult pieces as well. I use a 50 ft heavy duty extension cord that lets me use it in more places. I highly recommend this unit for the homeowner, and wish I had it ten years ago!

I used to have a 27ton gas splitter, we moved from out in the country to a place where I wouldn't be doing near as much wood processing, so I sold it. I still needed a small splitter. I waited to review this until I worked up several trees. I have split 5 mature trees, the largest being a 22" white oak. I was impressed. Performed well. After 30 mins of use, the control valve assembly developed a hydraulic leak at 90 degree threaded fitting.

If you are splitting serious wood, then the 14 ton ram force is a necessity. Smaller machines are simply effective with hard woods like ash, maple, etc.

The splitter came with directions that were difficult to read and resulted in me missing one connection. This caused hydraulic fluid to fly about until I stopped the engine and corrected the problem. Luckily I had just enough fluid to refill the reservoir. Since then the splitter has worked well. I was splitting pieces of wood so large that I could barely lift them onto the splitter. Hydraulic activation handle when in auto return mode Will seriously hurt you when it stops returning and violently snaps forward into position. I had to heat and bend the handle back in order to minimize that possibility.

I have used this for several months with no complaints. It splits very large hardwood logs. Regarding packaging: great care was clearly taken in packing this item for shipping, which I appreciated.

Bought this for my mother. No hardware was included, no dipstick. Box had been opened tgen shipped incomplete. No service communication no returned calls no answer. Long wait for customer service. Parts…. Terrible company absolutely a waste of money. This thing is worthless without the nuts and bolts to put it together and no dip stick plug. Can not be used can not operate without a hydraulic dip stick cap. Still haven’t heard a peep from the company. All contact has been a dead end.

Received the splitter, assembled it and put hydraulic oil in and purged air form the system. Started splitting wood immediately and had a leak in the hydraulic ram seal and a 90 degree threaded fitting under the hydraulic manifold. Called them and sent photos of the leaks. They sent a replacement ram and manifold. No more leaks and the splitter has plenty of power to split any logs. Nice to not have to deal with larger gas splitters.

Filled it full of oil and went to work. This might not have some of the power a gas model will, but it's the highest hp for an electric version and works fantastic. Nice and quiet.

I have a 6 ton gas and slices through oak. This 14 ton junk stalls at 6 inch Norfolk pine . look at posted video .don't waste your time and money, others have had same problem. I should have read reviews

Easy to assemble. Add hydraulic fluid and run back and forth till hose is full and work great, split 10in straight red oak still slightly green with no problem.

1. Be sure to check the oil after 1st run without log. There will be air in system.2. I expected 14 ton motor to be twice as noisy as 7 ton but it is not. The biggest noise is when some logs pop apart.3. No problem using one hand to run controls and second to deal with logs, so it is easy to split one log into many pieces. If this woodsplitter is so good, why didn’t the video show it splitting any wood? And if it’s made in China, and I’ll bet it is, it most likely has moving parts made of plastic. It’s not a question of will it break, but when?
