New cap cured my OBD P0457 code

Fixed evaporative emission system leak code with this cap. FYI, you may have to fill the tank once or twice before the code goes away, but if the cap was the problem, it will eventually go away.

This DOES NOT WORK: Caps

Like the other reviewer, we fitted this to a Honda (03 Civic) and the check engine light came on. We replaced it with a genuine Honda cover and the BOOM light went out. Money given away, don't get it back. This seller is stealing your money

Do not buy. Defective

Defective. Back late. My check engine light came on. The instructions say to replace the cover. This cap never lets the light go out. After much deliberation, I ordered a real Honda baseball cap. After 55 miles my check engine light went out and my stress was gone.

Gasket not holding

I should have known it was not an OEM package but the gas cap was not holding the gasket and I ended up checking the system. I replaced it with the original fresh Honda cap and then the system worked. Either defective, or a fake, or old stock that was no longer good.

Item Fuel cap failure

Hello I have a problem with this item after installing it on my car. The problem reoccurs. Check engine light with evaporator. Leak in the fuel tank system. After completing the system diagnostics, I found that the new fuel cap (this part) is defective, the valve in the cap stays open, and the cap is leaking fuel tank vapors. Please, the return window is closed on this item, but the item comes with a certain guarantee.

This thing is as useless as using nickel in a vending machine where you can only buy a quarter.

This gas cap is junk. If it fits my car, but the damn thing doesn't work at all. It clicks 3 times as it says on the cap and I click 3 times sometimes 5 and my check engine light stays on with the same code P1457 (evaporator leak) and it's annoying. Don't bother buying this cap, you're better off just going to Autozone and getting a replacement cap for $6 instead of $20. Not worth your time, your money or anything in between. DO NOT BUY!

2004 Honda CRV LX Best Gas Cap

Warning light came on on a 2004 CRV with 111,000 miles. Tried several times to reattach the gas cap, same error. I checked the rubber on the inner cover and found that the seal had a few cracks so I ordered a new cover. New cap installed but error message stayed the same. Doesn't seal caps completely

I bought this cap to replace one I lost on my daughter's 2001 Honda Civic. Judging by the reviews I believed it would fit/close properly. When I got it I put it on the gas cap and within 24 hours the check engine light on the car came on. After paying for a vehicle inspection, including a smoke test to find leaks, it was found that smoke was coming out of the gas cap.
