Doesn't last long / may turn green

We were remodeling our shower and needed this to get rid of dried grout/grout in certain areas. Green stains and it didn't last long. Definitely not sustainable.

They will not last as long as you hoped

I have several outbuildings with plywood walls and/or roof - wood shelving, workshop etc. All of these have been covered with a good two coats of exterior paint when new and cleaned and repainted every three or four years. Pretty standard stuff. So far I've used a scraper to remove loose paint and dirt before applying fresh paint. I was hoping this rough little sanding block would cut down on the work.
