I love this door. The instructions are very easy to follow. The door is sturdy and the boards fit snuggly together. The measurements for the install are accurate. The hardest part was installing the header board. The kit doesn't come with a header board, but it is highly recommended. In my case, my studs were in odd places so the holes on the track didn't line up with them. The door was easy to assemble and easy to install. I primed all the components before assembly. This door was going to be used outside. Once assembled the door is very sturdy. The only thing that I would suggest would be to make one upper slat and one lower slat a little bit wider so that it can be trimmed during assembly. These went together fairly easily, given we modified the height. I love this barn door! We put it together as instructed with no issues. We did leave off the diagonal pieces on the door because we liked the look of it better with out it. Wow, we couldn't be happier with this door. We were replacing a pocket door in our master bedroom. I was being cheap and lazy and instead of ripping the pocket door out of the wall and reframing another one, I simply sealed up in the wall and hung this bad boy. This kit was very easy to work with. I primed and painted all the boards individually before assembling the door. The door is very heavy. The wood was in excellent condition when it arrived and required very minimal sanding on some of the ends.

We have a modular home at the lake so the door had to be modified a little bit to fit. But it is really cute and it’s perfect for our closet door. It doesn’t take up any extra room or make the corner awkward.

I have several of these in my house. Love them. Take your time painting them, they soak up the paint. Had to do three coats on each side to fill all the small cracks and ensure it absorbed properly. They look great when done.
