Impreza WRX solution

Finally a kit that fits my 2013 Impreza WRX hatchback. After getting several kits supplied by online shops and phone calls to OEMs, I finally tried this kit. I was very happy that it was compatible with my car and very easy to install! Thumbs up!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Worked for a while, then failed.

Revain says it won't fit but it will fit a 2013 Subaru WRX Hatchback. I bought in spring 2017, worked until spring 2020, may have dropped out earlier, but didn't use the trailer at the time. I suspect an indirect short circuit in the black box. I get dim light for turn signals with indicator light but not flashing.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Fits

Easy install, buy this and don't go to U-Haul!

I wish I had bought this originally instead of having U-Haul do the wiring for my trailer. I had 2 controller boxes and decided to try this. Much better design than the splicing system that U-Haul uses. The hardest part was routing the power cable to the battery, but once I did that the rest of the setup was easy. Highly recommended.

Easy to handle up to the battery cable

Custom-fit, easy-easy. Remove the taillights (2 screws each side), disconnect the wiring harness and snap it into place. Ready in 5 minutes - for both sides. Another issue was the wiring to the battery. The instructions were (erm) pretty vague. There's no room to run wires under a car that doesn't cross things that spin, bounce, or get very hot. I ran a 12v wire in the car to an accessory. Socket in the center console between the seats. Fiddle with the finish for about an hour. Total…

Next Man Tips

Matches my 2010 Impreza Outback Sport 5 speed great! It took about 3 hours to install, but I'm picky about the route. dancing around the exhaust of his Impreza. Make sure to protect the wiring from heat! I used heat resistant foil tape around the suspension parts for extra protection. Even the muffle heats up with a large load! Our vehicles have a plastic cap in the rear bulkhead under the spare wheel cover. Make a hole in it and run a power cord through it. It's difficult to get to, but it…

Great kit, read comments for easy install

Based on other reviews, install wasn't too bad. I deviated in several ways, which made my life a lot easier: - As per many other comments, I went into the car for the power line through the rubber grommets under the spare tire - Then I went under the carpet to the left. floorboard trim (the piece of plastic at the base of the door) and ran under it to the front of the car. I then deviated from all the other instructions and used this kit to add the circuit (ATO ATM ATC Fuses Add a Circuit Kit…

not sure if this is the best place for it

I installed this on a 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5I 5 door. I watched this YouTube video before installing - (.) and I think it helped. The instructions weren't very helpful, but with this video it wasn't a problem. As others have said, the hardest part is connecting the black wire to the power supply. I used the same trick as the other reviewer. If you remove the rear spare wheel, there are 2 rubber plugs at the bottom. Pull one out and you'll see a sheet metal that sits over the muffler. I punched
