Engine Alignment Tools applicable to Newer BMW N20 & N26 4 cylinder turbo engine. This tool is used to fix the camshaft in top dead center position. This tool is used to fix the VANOS encoder wheel in top dead center position. The alignment pin is used to fix the engine flywheel at top dead center. Kit contains OEM Equivalent tool 212 831, 119 340, 212 830, and 219 548.

Precision tool for perfect engine alignment

After trying this tool, I can say it's a must-have for any automotive enthusiast! The precise locking mechanism ensured that my engine was perfectly aligned every time. The kit works but there are some flaws

This kit is much cheaper than the big instrument manufacturers, so we decided to try it. It works, but suffers from typically poor Chinese manufacturing tolerances. The intake part of the tool is optimally matched to the intake camshaft. The exhaust part is, well, not that much. It's something like 0.1mm. It can be made to fit over the exhaust camshaft with the judicious use of a hammer. 2 stars deducted for this. The rest of the kit does what it's supposed to. There are no instructions so you…

Mine was broken: Motor tools

Most of this set worked fine. However, one of the instruments was not processed properly and I could not use it for its intended purpose. The VANOS installation tool has two faster holes; one at each end so it can be secured in the two bolt holes in the valve cover. I was able to mount the latch on the passenger side, but the hole on the driver's side was drilled in the wrong place and didn't line up with the hole in the head. See photo.
