Took less than a year!

I ordered this part at the end of May 2017. She fixed an AC issue we had at the time (some vents worked, others had no defrost issues). But in November/December my husband started complaining that the passenger air stays hot with the A/C on. He was working out of state at the time, but he's back in town now (May 2018) and I checked him out. I tried resetting the drives but definitely found that the one I replaced no longer works. Now I have ordered from another seller, I am waiting for it to…

Works perfectly. Note that T3983001 is the only number you need to worry about matching. The bottom number appears to be the batch number or something. As I had already replaced one of these modules under the dash I decided to replace the other one (on the passenger side) so I ordered two of these modules. They came with different bottom numbers, but the top number T3983001 was the same on each device. Both work great! A little tedious to install, but there are some good tips on YouTube. Much…

Good price, fast delivery, works great.

Bought a used 2011 GMC Acadia. A used car has two problems with the air conditioning on the passenger side. First, the drive that controls the mode (defrost / air / floor) failed and made crunching noises. The air sometimes didn't reach the window. Bought this part and a small 1/4" ratchet + Torx T20 bit (and an additional 1/4" wobbly knee) and was able to take out the glove box and then swap out this part and reassemble. after about 20-25 minutes. Secondly, the drive that controls the mixture…

A working heater = a happy woman! Only cold air came out.

Working heating = happy wife! Only cold air came from the passenger side of our 2011 Buick Enclave. For $40 and a few hours on my Saturday I saved hundreds. The location of the part behind the glove box is very difficult to find. I was only able to get 2 of the 3 screws in so I'm hoping it will hold up. You can only get to the screws with a mini ratchet. There are at least 2 of these drives, but the parts are interchangeable. I replaced the first one (which had the "easiest" access) and that…

Difficult to install but at least fixed

I noticed that my mixed door (toggling between vents, feet and defrost on the top panel) was not working when switching between directions on the HVAC LED of the electronic control panel was a ceremony. I have a 2012 Chevy Traverse (LTZ) with dual zone automatic climate control and this actuator is for vent direction/mixed door NOT dual zone/temperature variation. This solved my problem, and note that the drive is behind the glove box (on the left) which you can see clearly, but the screws…

Great replacement part

Chevy Traverse 2012. The driver's side started blowing hot air and cold air from the passenger side. Replaced the actuator under the steering wheel on the driver's side. It worked right away. (If hot air blows from the passenger side, it's the ride behind the glove box and closest to the radio). The area is a little tricky to work on, but with a little patience I was able to do it. Took less than an hour and saved me hundreds. The dealer would charge at least $400 for it. Step by step. Remove…

Worked to replace a broken actuator in a 2012 GMC Acadia

I needed this to replace a broken actuator in my 2012 GMC Acadia. Air conditioner stuck in defrost mode. I was able to switch between modes on the display, but the position of the vents didn't really change. I have never paid $500 for a professional repair when I could do it myself for $42. It took me an hour and the absolutely necessary little ratchet set that another poster mentioned and now we have the door operator in order. I won't lie, it was a tedious job. And I ended up with a bruised…

Problem solved but VERY difficult to replace without the right tool.

My 2011 Chevrolet Traverse windshield was fogging up or not defrosting and I knew I had a problem. Investigated the issue and have concluded that this actuator is defective as the issue is quite common. I've seen reports of dealers charging up to $600 for this repair and thought I'd try fixing it myself. Several instructions posted on the forums or YouTube detailing the exchange procedure. Remove the glove box and the cover under the glove box. This part was fairly easy and went without…
