ACDelco 15235418 Original Equipment Control Review

I bought my new BCM from ACDelco Revain. Extremely fast delivery. I managed to install the BCM and then take it to the dealer to have it flashed for $60. Saved a lot of money by doing it myself. Here is the tutorial I used: [.]

This BCM was purchased from AC Delco. Described as new. Took it to my local GM dealer this morning. They installed it and tried to program it. Blocked, it has already been installed and programmed in another car. Now I've lost 100.00 on a trader programming attempt that I can't recoup. Not recommended.

As others mentioned I ordered a replacement BCM and replaced the parts myself. I took it to the dealer and they asked me for $115 and 1 hour wait. My problem was that the automatic headlights didn't work and the sunroof wouldn't open. BCM has fixed these issues. Very satisfied.

I received an estimate for this part from my local GM dealer for over $400 (I was told the retail price was over $500). You still have to program this device so the labor cost is small, but the device is no different than what you get from the dealer. Programming is not a do-it-yourself job as it requires an expensive GM-specific tool. However, you can save some work by removing the body panels yourself so the technician can reach them. I ordered this product from Revain to replace a failed BCM in my Aztek. I got the impression that when "NEW" was written it was a new part. I asked a mechanic friend of mine to install it as it wasn't an easy task. It took about 3.5 hours to disassemble the console and install the new BCM. We had trouble turning on the security light and putting Aztek in lockdown mode. After having to pull that *!$# battery post off the side post 3 or 4 times to reset it, I decided to order this new BCM.
