    FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW, READ THIS.

    Gates are the manufacturer/supplier of Delco AC belts/hoses, they just put the AC Delco part number on them. This kit consists of Gates parts with Gates part numbers, the kit has AC Delco part numbers. This way you get quality AC Delco parts.

    Perfect for spares

    Fits my 1999 GMC Sierra 5.3L exactly. A few installation tips. Remove the front fender for easier access. First you need to remove the main belt from the crankshaft pulley. Put the belt on the AC pulley first. I used a 15 socket and a short extension for the turnbuckles.

    I strongly believe that I should only fit OEM parts in my cars. I've been in the wrench business for a long time and have long realized that cheap parts usually cost more. You couldn't beat the price of this kit, especially with next day delivery. The installation went great and the parts matched or exceeded the parts already on the truck.

    Almost identical and solves problems.

    I bought this to fix my dad's 2502 Silverado 2500 6.0. When troubleshooting with no cold AC, I found a broken compressor belt and an idler pulley that wouldn't spin. This kit included a tensioner that perfectly matched the original and a high quality belt. Both were boxed and marked with genuine GM tags. The installation went better than expected. The five shields and two pulley bolts as well as the main belt tensioner are 15mm in diameter. A ratchet or 3/8 breaker will fit the new pulley, and…

    Squeak away

    Belt and pulley parts fit as described, we have a 2001 Chevy 1500 5.3 z71 truck, took about 1 hour to replace. I had trouble catching a loud creaking sound coming from the engine area. After replacing the belt and pulley, the creaking was gone and the engine (198 km) sounds like new. To eliminate a noisy/squeaky belt, spray water on it. If it goes away, it's most likely a bad belt. While you've got the belt off, it's time to replace the tensioner.

    Ideal for spare parts

    This is an AC Delco who normally supply quality parts. My old one got wet when my water pump exploded and the stretcher was right under it so he started yelling everywhere I went. This part helped and my Tahoe 5.3 from 2003 is back to normal. Just two screws. You have to undo the serpentine strap to change the accessory strap, which is very easy after I removed the fan cover and lower fender. You can probably change it without taking them off, but I hate working in small spaces.

    Works reliably. My experience as an auto mechanic has taught me that there are no substitutes for dealer parts, and working at a car dealership has taught me how to stop the constant calls about a car by replacing a part you bought somewhere with a constant Stream of parts throw away with a lifetime warranty and put an ACDelco part on it.     It's worth replacing the tensioner if you need to replace the belt.

    Blow to 50 degrees air but I was a bit embarrassed to turn it on and use it because of the horrible squeaking noise it made when the AC was on. I noticed my accessory belt looked pretty cracked the last time I changed the oil, so I decided to replace the tensioner and belt in one go.
