Works great on starters and parts

I bought this to use on my '82 Yamaha XJ550 as I'm tired of the cheap Chinese motorbike solenoids that fail after about a year. Hopefully it's the last at least 2 I mean it's for a truck so I hope it can last that long but I think it's great so far

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Only available in white

Perfect fit for my Ford F-250 7.3L Superduty - with a small modification.

Fixes my 15 year old truck. Sure, I still drive around with a screwdriver in my door pocket just in case, but hey, it's a Ford so a few basic tools and you'll be able to fix anything in no time. I had to snap off one of the plastic baffles on top to get it to fit my factory battery cable properly, but it took a minute with a razor blade and pliers. So far so good, I hope it lasts 15 years like the original.

Pros
  • Hands Free Working
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Totally dissatisfied with this product

This was for my Ford 88 Tree Farm Truck. I was able to start the truck 4 times with this magnet. On the fourth try it got stuck and I had to unplug the battery to turn it off. It gets stuck in the on position, reconnecting the battery clip turns it back on. I have just returned from the farm and see that the date I could return the goods is closed 4 days ago. Totally dissatisfied with this product. I'm not happy I can't return it. I will buy my next one from NAPAt.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Stall failed with engine running, starter engaged

Very similar to the other reviewer, this part failed very quickly causing the starter to "hang" in the 'handle'. The only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery, which luckily I had already disconnected. If I had to pull out the wrench, the starter could be damaged. This relay failed after less than 10 starts. The car was already in the driveway when the starter kicked in on its own (well, technically the relay failed and turned the starter on) and wouldn't stop. Luckily I still have time

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Band

Works great (and works after a month)

UPDATE: After about 400 (give or take) or a month it's still working as it should. HOWEVER I had to buy some lock washers as the ones in the kit fell off one day. I'd still buy this as a couple of hardware store washers that cost about as much as the change I find in my washers isn't even remotely reason enough not to. I bought this to replace a unit in my 1990 Ford Ranger after it had worn out. Over 30 years from when it was built, the original is finally worn out enough to be hot enough to…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Poorly thought through

Took 2 days to fail

I bought this to replace the original starter solenoid on my F-250 which finally stopped working after over 20 years of driving my truck. This new solenoid worked fine the first day, then after work on the second day I had to turn the key 3 times before it made more than a click. It's been 5 days and I already have to start my truck with a screwdriver. Not comfortable at all and a bit uncomfortable. Next I'm going to install the bike's solenoid valve, which apparently I should have done first…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
