Make sure you count your screws!

I thought I counted my bolts but the filter on my 2013 GMC Denali 2500 HD 6.0L 6L90 was different than mine. I was already past the return date when I replaced my filter so I wanted to share my mistake. I had to buy a filter "ACDelco 24236933 Professional Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter Kit". My pad was rubber and reusable. Just clean and reroll. The quality of the filters and seals appear to be normal. Just make sure you buy the right one, or at least install it within the 45-day return…

Really not suitable for deep pans.

This filter was incorrectly listed as fitting my 1999 Chevy K1500 pickup. Using this filter can cause transmission errors as it has too short a neck to ensure it stays in place. I have a 4L60-e transmission with a stepped (deep) oil pan. Buy a filter that is 4 1/2 inches overall height rather than this filter that is only 4 inches overall height. As such, my review reflects the damage that can be caused by a supplier claiming a part will fit when in fact it doesn't. It seems like a violin would

Genuine parts always fit right

A terrible transmission oil change went well with the right gasket and filter. Aside from the driveway being painted red with trans liquid, it was pretty easy. The kit that Advance tried to sell me had a rubber seal that I didn't trust. I cleaned the mating surfaces with a wire brush and brake cleaner. I also removed the magnets and cleaned the pan in the parts washer. The Delco version had a matching cork spacer that held the screws in place during installation and made it easy to screw them…

Absolutely will not fit 08 GMC Sierra

I bought this filter specifically for my 08 GMC Sierra 1500 because it says it is compatible with my truck! After removing the entire transmission pan. After removing the old filter ring and putting in a new filter, I noticed that the pan doesn't close completely! Notice that the new filter does NOT have the same cut angle as the old one and it doesn't clean the sump! It's extremely frustrating when you're trying to fix a T and you end up with a filter that doesn't fit and I have to find the…

Transmission oil change can be very messy

I used RTV and gasket and now 3000 miles and no leaks. I replaced the filter but I don't have a torque wrench so I couldn't tighten the transmission bolts and I couldn't remove the old transmission filter gasket so I just put the old filter in. I have found that I can get a large hand pump. and put a hose in the transmission dipstick and suck out a liter while it's running and then add a liter to try and refresh my fluid as I was just draining the transmission. Didn't do any flushing action…

Don't be cheap, buy OEM!

2001 Chevy Silverado 4.3 V6 16 Hole Flat Pan. This is the job you're afraid of! it's pretty simple and a bit messy. google "transmission 4l60e and filter change" and search youtube for tips. here is my experience with shadow wood: 1) latex gloves, lots of cardboard, workshop towels, a garbage bag and an oil pan. 2) a set of heads, a flat head, a crowbar, a hammer, or a block of wood. Ramps make it so much easier! 3) I slashed the drain plug, that's a common problem so I did it. Loosen screws…
