I agree with other reviewers. This product is bad. It only costs $10 but the product doesn't work. It took us 2 hours to install. You will cut the lampshade with scissors, but for the top you will need to use a hacksaw. It's hard to tell how wide to cut it because of the fittings on the ends. Now the curtain doesn't roll up and down. We have to detach it to roll it up and down manually. Don't even think about buying that. Save yourself the headache.

I purchased six (6) of these bases on the advertised custom width statement and claimed it was an easy DIY job. I wanted a 31" width, but since 37" was the only size available and a "custom width" is advertised, I ordered six of these.
