Worked great! for power converters

I needed to install a DVR on my friend's 2008 Subaru Legacy. So many new devices these days use USB power delivery; You'll need something like this if you want to wire them directly to the fuse box. It worked and it was small enough to easily hide behind the dash next to the fuse box. I did the install about six weeks ago and it works great!

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Nice non-isolated 5V USB power adapter

If all you're looking for is a USB port in your car, this should be it. I wanted to use it to power a Bluetooth receiver that was being interfered with by my current cigarette lighter adapters and this did NOT solve the problem as it is not an isolated ground. There is a direct connection between input ground and output ground. Otherwise good quality and compact

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Very expensive

Perfect fit for my needs

I used the eoocvt Buck Module 12V Convert to 5V USB Output Power Adapter along with the meross MSG100 Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Remote to power my Apollo 12V Solar Gate 635/636 Controller to open. I was looking for a way to open my gate as my remote controls were not working from my house. I have an external mesh router, so my Wi-Fi signal was pretty strong at around 400 feet. I connected everything and everything works great. I am very happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Vulgarity

slow charge on samsung galaxy s8

I bought this to upgrade my car and it connects to a device with combo HDMI and USB ports replacing the 12v accessory port. Very slow for a 5V/3A power supply. Only My smartphone connects to this port. It's hard to tell if the problem is with the 12/5V converter or the cables without spending more money and/or time testing. But it provides enough power for the phone whether I'm streaming on Pioneer radio or not. All in all it's an okay product, but I'll probably replace it with a converter that

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • no instructions

Buyers beware of power accessories

Bought one for the DVR in the truck. I gave the device the benefit of the doubt when it only worked for a very short time. I thought I got 5 stars that I must have a short in my truck's system. I unplugged the overhead console and hard wired 12v to the ignition and it worked initially (same as in the overhead console) but then stopped working after the job was zipped up and the tools removed. I ordered a replacement which was supposed to be shipped the next day but much later that day it was…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive

Ideal for permanent installations converting 12 VDC to 5 VDC

This is a great way to get 5 volts DC in the USB form factor from a 12 volt DC power source such as a car battery or deep cycle battery for continuous use. I use one of these to power my home internet infrastructure component (the VoIP box), which I run on a deep cycle battery so I don't lose my phone line during a power outage. So far this DC/DC converter works great and the ability to mount the case with two screws is ideal. An alternative cigarette lighter adapter form factor would be…

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Slightly dented
